Arterial Elasticity Index (hardening
of the arteries)
The Arterial Elasticity Index (AEI) is a test that measures the
flexibility or hardness of arteries: this is different than arterial
blockage. The AEI is measured with a modified blood pressure cuff that
measures the extent of arteriosclerosis (hardness) of arteries. Using
AEI, alongside conventional cardiovascular markers, we can precisely
monitor your response to natural and conventional therapies. Are
chelation, diet and exercise working? Let’s find out!
Autonomic Nervous System Evaluation
Stress Test
Heart disease, hypertension, anxiety, hyperactivity, autoimmune disease,
certain gastrointestinal disorders, and many other conditions may be
related to imbalances of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic
nervous system controls automatic (involuntary) body functions,
including secretion of acid into the stomach for digestion and speeding
up of the heart rate in response to stress. This noninvasive test helps
measure the overall “fitness” of one’s autonomic nervous system sot that
the appropriate natural treatments can be recommended.
Bio-identical Hormones
Our office provides a comprehensive and individualized approach using
bio-identical hormones. Bio-identical hormones are identical to those
made by the body and are synthetic (made in a laboratory). It is a
misconception that plants contain “natural” hormones; plants DO contain
hormone-like chemicals that are often used as “starting chemicals” when
bio-identical hormones are produced in the laboratory. The human body is
unable to convert hormone-like chemicals in plants such as soy and wild
yams to active hormones. Hormones used by conventional OBs, internist
and endocrinologists are also synthetic, but are very different
structurally from those made endogenously (in the body). Bio-identical
hormones are easily recognized by the body and are thought to carry far
less risk of hormone related cancers compared to synthetic,
non-bio-identical hormones.
Our office utilizes several important tests for determining the best
balance of bio-identical hormones required. These important tests
include:
- Certain blood hormone levels
- Specific saliva hormone measurements
- Urine measurements of estrogen metabolites
- Non-hormone nutritional and other laboratory tests that evaluate various
body processes that determine directly or indirectly hormone need, use and
overall balance.
It is the combination of these tests that give the most comprehensive
assessment of hormone levels, relative use by body tissues in need and
potential cancer risk (Yes! Even natural hormones may increase cancer
risk in a given individual)
Breast thermography is a state-of-the-art screening procedure
that captures images of the breast to aid in the early detection of breast irregularities. According to the American Journal of Surgery,
“is a valuable adjunct to mammography and ultrasound, especially in women with dense breast parenchyma”.
It is based on the principle of temperature variation, the slight increase in heat that is almost always generated when chemical and
blood vessel activity occurs in pre-cancerous tissue and the areas surrounding a developing breast cancer. Images are captured with
ultra-sensitive infra-red cameras and analyzed with sophisticated computers that seek to detect the minute increases in surface
temperature and vascular changes that may be occurring within the breast. It is comfortable and safe, using neither radiation nor
compression.
Breast thermographic technology has been researched for over 30 years. It has, however, been gaining national prominence and more
widespread use only recently, due to the publicity received by radiation-based screening technologies in the guidelines issued by the
American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Federal Government. It should not, however, be considered an alternative to
mammography. Rather, it should be regarded as an adjunct to mammography, and should be included in every woman’s regular breast health
regimen. Women of all ages should employ a combination of techniques, including breast self-examination, physical examinations of the
breast by a physician, thermography, mammography, and sometimes ultrasound or MRI examinations, where indicated. Studies have shown that
the earliest detection generally occurs when several test techniques are used in combination. The inclusion of thermography can often point
out the need for more intensive examination to make a complete diagnosis.
The Index Medicus, a comprehensive index of medical scientific journal articles, references more than 800 peer-reviewed breast thermography
studies, in which over 250,000 women participated. Many of these studies involved very large groups of patients (from 37,000 to over
100,000) and some have followed patients for as much as 12 years. Among other conclusions, these studies found that when thermography has
been added to a woman’s regular breast health checkups, a 61% increased survival rate was realized, and when used as part of a multi-modal
approach (clinical examination, mammography and thermography) 95% of early stage cancers will be detected. Since 23% of all breast cancers
occur in women under the age of 49, regular breast health checkups should be undertaken by women of all ages, even those in their 20’s. It
is well known that early detection is the best defense against breast cancer and that, if treated in the earliest stages, a 95% cure rate
is achieved.

Chelation Therapy The term chelation is from the Greek root word "chele," meaning "claw."
Chelating agents, most commonly diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), were
originally designed for industrial applications in the early 1900s.
However, varieties of chelation agents are available and should be
carefully chosen for the specific toxin(s) that must be removed.
Chelation therapy also removes various nutrients including zinc; a
deficiency of which can reduce immune function. Our office bases
chelation therapy upon kidney function, the toxin or toxins (i.e., heavy
metal) to be removed, medications, overall health and presence of
disease…and very importantly, our patent pending laboratory
interpretation technology – Blood Detective (please consult the rest of
our brochure for more information). WHAT YOU MUST KNOW - We DO NOT give every patient the same chelation formula in their IV-drips; in fact, it is not uncommon for us to continuously change and
adapt your IV-drip based on your progress, new research and your
clinical response. This level of attention to your needs is what you
will get and deserve! The “best chelator” does not exist – the chelator
of choice may change, remain the same and or be combined with other
necessary assessment measurements. Arterial stiffness (atherosclerosis
measurement) and blood minerals and organ function measurements are just
some of the testing possibilities for those who will receive chelation
therapy.
Herbal Therapy
Herbal
medicine is a tried-and-tested approach to health and disease treatment
used by many cultures around the world. In fact, most medications used
by medical physicians were originally derived from plants and herbs.
Scientific validation for the use of many herbs is finally here!
Together with a careful health history, nutritional examination and the
appropriate lab tests, it is now possible to individualize the right
herbs for the right person at the right time. Herbs are as complex as
the human body. We pride ourselves in our knowledge of Chinese, American
and Ayurvedic herbs and their proper use for health and disease
treatment and prevention.
Hydrogen Peroxide (HP) Therapy
Most cells produce hydrogen peroxide. For example, granulocytes (a type
of white blood cell) produce hydrogen peroxide as a first-line defense
against bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Other cells make hydrogen
peroxide to help metabolize proteins, carbohydrate, fats, vitamins, and
minerals. We provide intravenous HP on-site.
Intravenous Nutrition/Vitamin and
Mineral Injections
Reserved for those health issues requiring faster results, intravenous nutrition
is a reliable method of increasing tissue levels of nutrition many times higher than
nutrients by mouth could ever achieve. IV and IM nutrition allow for quickly "catching up"
with nutritional deficiencies and are eventually discontinued: allowing foods and oral
supplements to work best. Dr. Wald is the author of the most complete textbook on the
subject of intravenous nutrition available. Because of age, illness, or medications,
some people require higher-than-normal doses of nutrients or cannot absorb the nutrients
they need from food alone. When vitamins and minerals are administered intravenously or
with intramuscular injections, nutrients are absorbed rapidly into the bloodstream for
delivery to the organs and tissues in need. These methods, in combination with a balanced,
individually tailored diet and nutritional supplements (if needed), can meet one's nutritional
needs more quickly and thoroughly than dietary interventions alone. WHAT YOU MUST KNOW –
Our facility bases intravenous nutrition formula’s upon your health issues, your current
stresses, your genetics and your laboratory work…as well as other factors. We DO NOT give
every patient the same nutritional formula in their IV-drips; in fact, it is not uncommon
for us to continuously change and adapt your IV-drip based on your progress, new research
and your clinical response. This level of attention to your needs is what you will get and
deserve!
Medical Diagnostic Testing & The
Blood Detective™ Approach
Our staff is trained to evaluate blood tests from a nutritional and
medical perspective, allowing for more accurate interpretation and
treatment options. Dr. Wald is the developer of a ground breaking
technology called Blood Detective Logic that is influencing the natural
health care field worldwide. Most doctors only identify test results
that are already in the abnormal high or low range, and treat disease
once it is obvious and in full force. The Blood Detective system (Dr.
Wald’s invention) goes beyond this, potentially uncovering sub-clinical
(hidden) abnormalities and trends before blood levels show the full
disease state. The result — we help you prevent disease and
illness...naturally! Even when your doctor says, “Your lab tests are
normal,” Dr. Wald, the original Blood Detective, works hard to find
natural solutions for all of your health issues.
Osteoporosis Screening - No Radiation!!
Our method of bone density measurement uses the calcaneous - your heel
bone. It is the most weight-bearing bone in the body. What's best is
that our technique uses sonogram (sound waves) and not x-ray radiation
as conventional testing does, to accurately screen for loss of bone
density (i.e., osteopenia and osteoporosis). Complementary medicine
recognizes that degrading bone health may be secondary to absorption
problems, chronic infections and disease, hormonal disorders and
nutritional inadequacies. Osteoporosis screening is quick, painless and
is part of a well-balanced nutritional and natural medicine approach.
Please consult the information below and consider whether or not you
should be tested.

Ozone Therapy
Ozone is an element (an oxidant) that the body naturally produces that
stimulates the immune system and our antioxidant defenses. The body
might produce an "oxidant" such as ozone to fight against a bacterial,
fungal or viral infection, and/or repair dead and dying cells. Ozone may
be dissolved into sterile water or blood products: within the blood
ozone has been scientifically shown to kill various infectious agents.
Our office provides intravenous ozone therapy.
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (ORPT)
Our office utilizes individually based dietary, vitamin, mineral and herbal approaches for sports injuries.
There therapies are based upon extremely detailed blood and urine tests that often reveal underlying nutritional
problems that may either predispose and/or severely limit recovery of tissues including bone, ligament, tendon,
muscle and nerve. We do not provide PRPT, but prefer to balance the entire individuals unique nutritional needs
enhancing overall health and well being; with an emphasis on sports injuries.
Vitamin and Mineral Supplementation
Dr. Wald is the author of two popular books among Anti-Aging doctors
entitled: The Encyclopedia of Nutritional Laboratory Tests and, The
Encyclopedia of Anti-Aging Nutritional Tests. Dr. Wald literally
invented the Blood Logic System helping him figure out your unique
bio-nutritional needs. Traditional medicine has only remedial training
in nutrition and is trained in only the RDA (minimal) governmental
requirements. Testing and technologies are available to help determine
your precise nutritional needs.
Weight Loss (... and keeping it
off) Consultations: Our, Perfect Weight Loss
Plan
Reducing caloric intake and exercise may not have worked best for your
weight loss efforts. In our experience, weight loss efforts must
consider the entirety of your health care needs. Here are some examples
of important considerations often missed:
- Hormonal Imbalances: Deficiencies of testosterone, DHEA, thyroid hormones,
hormone and/or progesterone for example can and often do slow or prevent weight
loss efforts. Blood, urine and/or salivary hormone tests may all be required to
get a complete handle on your hormonal problems. Keep in mind that foods and
exercise affect hormone levels! However, if hormone levels are imbalanced the
effects of even the most carefully planned out diet calorically and exercise
plan will be blunted.
- Toxicity: Many toxins are fat soluble which means that they are stored by
the body in fatty tissues such as the breast tissue and the fat around organs.
Weight loss efforts are often slowed or prevented when the issue of toxicity is
not adequately handled. Not all detoxification programs are the same and they
should not be!! Our detox plans are toxin-based which means that tests are done
to identify some predominant toxins in your body and a food, exercise,
supplement and lifestyle plan invented for your health, detoxification and long
term weight loss needs.
- Exercise: So you think you exercise enough and exactly as you should? Maybe
or maybe not. Exercises should be based on your overall health and weight loss
goals and not all exercises will affect you and your metabolic rate the same. If
you have never heard of muscle confusion or lactic acid threshold then you are
probably not exercising correctly. Also, your exercise, food and nutritional
supplement plan must all be coordinated together in a way that is, "do-able",
relatively enjoyable and results ultimately in the desired weight loss from fat
and water weight and not from lean body tissue.
