Questions and Answers
Questioning is an essential part of our lives. Learning is impossible and progress halted when one does not internalize our observations of the world and form new perceptions of what it all means in our lives. Ignorance grows, scientific progress is halted and personal growth is stifled if we do not constantly question ourselves and the happenings in the world surrounding us. The GMO dilemma has occurred, at least in part I believe, due to a failure of the “powers that be” to ask the right questions. There exists an immaturity of knowledge about GMO safety, because our interconnectedness with our environment has been ignored or is entirely unrecognized by those who support the GMO agenda. The unwavering desire of GMO seed manufacturers to pursue fulfillment of their selfish agendas has created our current environment of societal fear, political corruption and impending health crisis. We cannot exist without the world, but the world can and will exist long after human beings are gone from this planet. Why is Monsanto so seemingly convinced that Frankenfoods are safe? I believe that their position on this matter is entirely born out of denial and self-preservation – and I will explore in great detail throughout this book many supportive examples that prove my point .
This book is my attempt to help “wake up” those scientists, politicians and citizens who have given little thought to or ignored the wellbeing of their fellow man for the sake of financial profit…at the expense of our quality and length of life and our inalienable human rights. When GMOs are involved, the freedom to live lives that we love involves, at least in part, our right to ask questions and consider the answers as they potentially impact our lives, our loved ones and everyone on the planet.
Albert Einstein said, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.” It is my hope that we all continue to ask questions and maintain an open mind regarding the GMO controversies that we are currently forced to confront. The questions and answers that I have provided in this book are only a starting point for your deep consideration, thoughtfulness and good intentions. To maintain an open mind to both sides of any issue brings with it the ability to consider new options and see things transparently and without bias. When considering the many nuances involved with GMOs and their political, social, moral, financial and health impacts, one realizes that only our educated choices and actions taken can reverse the GMO juggernaut that will otherwise continue unchallenged. Choice is the act of making a decision when given at least two or more options – the GMO industry should not be allowed to make the choice of Frankenfoods into your life without serious opposition.
