The ILSI Crop Composition database was created as a project by the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI). The project represents a coalescence of crop analyses from various agricultural companies. The participants in the project have pooled data about their crops, both conventional and genetically engineered, to make such data available to the general public, government agencies and industry. Version 4 was released in 2010; different versions of the project are constantly being worked on. More information regarding the ILSI database can be found at their website, www.cropcomposition.org.
